The Number 8 Wired EP idea came about in 2007 as pin up boy & frontman of NUTE, Drew Lyon wanted a bunch of remixes from trendy **ts in New Zealand and overseas. Guitarist Roxy Riot brought forth the "New Urban Trend Entitlements" scheme to stressed out tweenies looking for myspace cool points. However, with facebook invitations on the rise myspace secret parties started to wane, Roxy, knowing he was on to a cool thing, pressured ex-NUTE keyboardist Greg "Stranger" Danger into leaving the band as part of an internet media stunt, provoking harsh criticism but also taking bonus cool points from bebo users internationally.
